In response to Shocking Fish's post I blame The Gays
of 28th May 2005, I have decided to compose my own NEW
Gay Icon list. And it goes a little something like
this....
Juliette Lewis (cool & a total Rock Chick now)
Barbra Streisand (Still got it girl)
Jane Fonda (Ditto)
Karen O (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
Ruth Fisher (Six Feet Under)
Claire Fisher (Six Feet Under)
Viv Windsor (Emmerdale*)
Drea De Matteo (Sopranos)
Angelina Jolie (I would)
Bodybag (Badgirls**)
Shannon (Footballer's Wives***)
Natalie Portman (Now she can act again and has
shaved her head and still looks hot)
Daisy Steiner (Spaced)
Chiaki Kuriyama (Go-Go Yubari in Kill Bill)
Monica Belucci
Actually having written this now I have just
reinforced to myself just how utterly lame labelling
these people is. Icon is totally a matter of opinion.
One man's Brea Van De Camp is another man's Geri
Halliwell and it means nothing. Nothing at all!
Let's stand strong and not let them label us anymore!
(Oh, that was me standing up for my Gay love rights -
are you with me anyone? Anyone at all? ANYONE?!)
* Crappy British Soap Opera (was once Emmerdale Farm)
** Trashy British Drama about a woman's prision
*** Trashy Bristish Drama about erm, footballer's
wives
****************************************************
My Monday sucked ass all day and then ... five minutes after I
got home I got a surprise visit from... not, not Darth Vader...
my brother ! And his girlfriend/friend/travelling partner,
Shelley - I've met her finally! She's really nice, pretty, friendly,
by rights I shouldn't like her at all. But I do.
My brother has a curly 'fro going on too!
And he hugged me when he left! How odd!
I think my brother likes me, he wants to know me, he wants my friendship,
he borrowed my DVDs, he thinks I'm cooo0ol... (in style of Sandra Bollock
in Miss Congeniality)
So a good end to an otherwise souless day - see seeing the positive in my
days already!

I'm with you wonderful woman. Let's make a pact for people rights and dignity. We deserve it no matter what group or not we belong to. S
Woohoo! Yeah we do !!
Let's start a revolution!!
I'm with you - my best friend is gay and it inspired me when I was an undergraduate. I ended up volunteering as a graduate advisor for a gay/straight student group and writing my master's thesis on being gay at a middle American public college. I just don't get people who aren't supportive.
That is so nice that your brother came to visit and thinks you're cooOl...:) (Love Miss Congeniality too!)
I think that your brother was just after your DVD's I know thats what I do when ever I see my sister!
Love you girlfriend! (in a lame gay way!!)
