Bad Guy

We got Bad Guy (2003) on DVD this weekend, Bubble and I sat down this afternoon to watch it, we've been wanting to for ages. Shame The Boy and Rocker moaned all the way through it. Not enough tits and explosions, evidently.

Well, there were lots of tits actually but I wasn't about to share that with the narrow-minded...

This film is bizarre, pretty bleak and romantic at the same time, if that is possible. Actually, having watched it it does seem entirely possible, but you end up a little perplexed as to what people are capable of doing to those they are supposed to love.
Without giving too much away, which the back of the case does (doesn't it f**k you off when you read the back of a DVD case and it gives you the entire story in minute detail down to the colour of pants the main character is wearing? Argh) - this movie is about a man, let's call him Bad Guy (Jae-hyeon Jo) who sees a girl, Sun-hwa (Won Seo) in the street one day and falls in love with her, madly.
The day she sets eyes on Bad Guy is the day her life takes a dramatic and horrific turn for the worse and she somehow finds herself owing thousands to a loan company and subsequently forced into a life of prostitution, suspiciously watched over daily by Bad Guy himself.
Well, you'll have to watch it for the rest of the story but it's pretty gritty stuff, just don't expect any magic pixies or 'owt like that - this is sinister stuff to the end.
Jesus Antonio - if you haven't seen this already, it's worth a go - you might enjoy it.
