The Descent

I bought this on DVD last night at the friendly local neighbourhood supermarket and we watched it when we got back - boy was it goooooood!
It's very rare that I will watch a film from behind a cushion but this one was pretty darn terrifying - brilliant special effects, and the tension built up nicely - being as it is set in a cave, the claustrohobia radiates from the characters into your front room - I'm thinking being trapped in a cave might be one of my worst nightmares (in a cave with MC, even worse but that's another nightmare entirely...).
The director of The Descent, Neil Marshall was responsible for the highly enjoyable, 'comedy-horror' Dog Soldiers - but he sets an entirely different tone with this one.
My only criticism is that with all the dust and darkness and other heinous substances flying around, it's hard to keep up with who's who. Name tags next time, Mr Marshall.
See it, it's fab - wait 'til you meet the stars of the movie!

Tagline: Afraid of the dark? You will be.

Plot Outline: A caving expedition goes horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.

"pursued by a strange breed of predators".

Inland Revenue collectors?
Hari Krisna devotees?
and those sort who stand outside Morrisons by the front entrance aand rattle a collection box in your face when you try to go through the revolving doors.

Maybe those scary Save the Children box rattlers who chase you down the street and make you feel guilty for not giving them your bank account number?!

Now there is a movie concept and a half!

Let's make it.
