a Madge post

Madge quite literally landed on my Welcome mat this morning. Sad to say it wasn't the real deal popped in for a quick cuppa, but the new CD confessions on a dance floor - a disco album to get even the dorkiest of us up and shaking those asses. And boy have my moves been dorky!
Sadly, no-one currently in my household has much good to say about old M, but I'm in love with her, and the love will never end. Rocker thinks it's time for her to hang up her microphone and leave us the hell alone - but I think she is magnificent. To me this is what a role model, nay ICON is all about. Mariah: take note, if you ain't got it...
Which leads me to my next point. Madge is the kind of person we need to inspire the youth of today - sure she can be vulgar, crude and she can miss the point (rarely, but what are those Motorola ads all about?!) - but before she made it she arrived at a record company party in her pj's and went up to the nearest industry bod and asked him if he knew who she was. When he replied, "No" - she said: "But you will". Boy, I bet he knows who she is now!
What is great about her is that she started from scratch, a disco girl on the scene, took dance lessons, sang at gigs, did some dodgy nudey shots - but believed she was something special. And proved it.
It saddens me that my stepdaughters don't have the same kind of role model to grow up with - mmmm, well, there's .: Girls Aloud :. (fantastic, but please?)? avril lavigne? jodie marsh?!
Anyway, I always knew M and I could be close, and I always knew we had something in common:
Me too Madge, me too! Fragglehump will vouch for me!
Play this cool game in honour of Madge:

And if you haven't discovered this great site yet: Pink is the new Blog, I highly recommend it, it's gloriously, wonderfully, fantastically bitchy and funny!
And it's creator, Trent, has been in the company of one M. Donna:

Lucky pup!
