Reading

Following The Peanut Queen's post yesterday about paperback hijack, I wanted to say: You most certainly are not the spoilt one! I would go loco on Rocker's ass if he tried to take the book I'd just got into.

I mean, a hundred and something is a long way into a book to get before it's brutally torn from your loving arms - and held hostage for god knows how long in the Little Boy's Room (I was going to put 'bog' but that's just unladylike). Having said that, and this is where my air of mystery is obliterated entirely; I do a high proportion of reading in the powder room myself.

Anyway, hello? Where are his manners? Where's the logic? WTF?! PK sounds like a great guy, don't get me wrong, but that's just plain mean!

Rocker never reads. He believes books are an outdated source of information. He teases me whenever I pick one up, referring to me, cunningly, as 'book worm' - where'd you get than insult, 1982?! But I don't care. I'd read all day if I got the chance. If I'm not reading it's because I have no time.

I like a diverse book or one that is hard work, but rewarding. I love horror (King, Koontz, Shaun Hutson), gothic (Poe), retro, classic, pretty much anything. Even the odd Jackie Collins thrown in (hey, the woman did teach me everything I know!).

My favourite book of all time is Belladonna . I loved The Lovely Bones . Jordan's Autobiography Being Jordan was a particularly meaty read!

Books are almost as fabulous as movies, and I don't say things like that lightly. Movies are my one true love, but books are my bit on the side. So while Rocker is getting 'up-to-date' information from the computer, I'll be wrapped up warm on the sofa with the latest Douglas Coupland...

You're SO right, Wondy...that WAS just plain mean! (He gets that way sometimes...the booger!)

I feel the same way about books as you do movies...and I too would read all damn day long if I didn't have bills to pay! :)
