Munich

Yesterday evening I took Rocker to see Munich at the flicks, in honour of valentine's day. (Hey, that’s what my man wanted, that’s what he got!)

Eric Bana was phenomenal (I never use that word lightly) as Avner, team leader of the terrorist groups sent to take down the Palestinians responsible for the 1972 Olympic massacre of 11 Isreali athletes in Munich.  The movie itself is very good, but I won’t pretend I didn’t find it hard work, especially with Uncle Junior from The Sopranos sitting in front of me, blocking the subtitles!

It’s 2 hours 44 minutes long but well worth it.  I haven’t seen any of the other Oscar contenders yet, but I don’t think it deserves to win Best Picture.  I will have to reserve judgement until I have more to compare it with though.

I wouldn’t mind if Bana won Best Actor, though if Philip Seymour Hoffman doesn’t I will scream and scream and scream until I am sick!
