Getting on my high horse
The things annoying me most this week are:
- The whole Brokeback Mountain not winning the Oscar for Best Picture backlash. I haven't seen the film yet so I can't judge, but how's about the Academy making the decision to reward the better movie (Crash) and accepting that they didn't sit down plotting how best to stab the gays in the back? If Crash hadn't won, surely we would then have had to suffer another issue altogether? Anyway, my brother thinks Munich should of won. Maybe he's right.
- The flu. I am so over it.
- My leaving do. It was really sweet - I got a wonderful new raspberry shade handbag from the girls (lovely it is, perfect for my first day at new work), lots of nice cards and vouchers from Medieval Girl. They made me feel so special. Even Ice Queen grabbed me in a huge hug and said she'd miss me (!). No, it was really nice and we went for lunch at a nice little cafe in town. The company paid for mine. Free lunch always tastes better! But what my bugbear was... When it came to paying for the rest of the team, our new boss (but not mine anymore!!) got horribly hesitant and told them that they had to each pay 15 quid each. Then he said no actually, the company can pay. Then he said, actually we'll all pay 15 quid. And he totally didn't pay for the first round of drinks like he sent an email round saying he would do! Goldilocks (forever the Credit Controller) goes: "So aren't you paying for our first drinks, you said you would" and the slimey little weed stuttered something incomprehensible and changed the subject! What a loser! So I imagine Monday morning will be World War 3, I'm kinda gutted I'll miss it... Oh, and he drank two mahooosive glassed of Pinot and then drove home! Punk.
That's it for now - promise!
