Say my name, say my name
Ah nicknames. I love the whole concept. Thanks to PQ (Banana-fanna-fo-Peanut....:)) I got to thinking about this subject myself. A nickname personalises you I think and makes you who you truly are. How awful not to have one and to always be referred to by your own Christian name. It’d feel like being in trouble ALL THE TIME, like when Rocker says "Christa" I know I am in serious doo doo. (But it secretly excites me all the same…)
You all know me as Wondy but I have many monikers.
At home I am Boon. When I’m with Fragglehump I am Loobi or Looli (short for Fallulah, from a vintage Friend episode. Guess you had to be there). My Ma knows me as Bella. My brother refers to me as Sis (but before that it was Crunch, which I loved).
Boo calls me Pookie (after Garfield’s teddy bear). The mean woman at work calls me ‘Stuck-up Bitch’ which doesn’t gel so well and Shocking Fish knows me as ‘that damn sexy ho’ (Probably. Actually, SF you don’t have a nickname for me, you can make one up this weekend if you like?)
So what is in a name?
Who even knows but I’m just glad not to be referred to as ‘Duracell’ or ‘that girl with the Orange sticky up hair’ like back in school…
The scars…!
