Monkey Business

I finally watched my beloved King Kong on Friday night and I have to say it was blimmin' amazing. I sobbed my way through the final half, from the bit where they capture him at Skull Island all the way to his sticky end.

I loved it.

Peter Jackson may have cost me over 12 hours with his Lord of the Rings trilogy (and then again with those blasted extended versions on DVD) but all is forgiven. The man is pure dynamite at the big action blockbuster.

I may be Queen of the Indie Movie but everybody needs a slice of gloss in their lives every now and again. To think this guy brought us anti-blockbuster Heavenly Creatures and the horrific Braindead.

Now The Lovely Bones is in pre-production, is he going back to his small budget roots?
