Creepy is as Creepy does

I have to tell you this story because it has been creeping me out since Wednesday when I heard it, maybe sharing it with you won't make it seem so weird. This is just like the time I watched The Exorcist III and was running scared for weeks afterward.

On Wednesday morning, I had First Aid training which was all fine and good until it came to the dummy. Now it took me a while to work out why the Instructor kept referring to a male CPR dummy as 'Annie'.

Turns out that the real Annie was a young woman who fell into the Seine and was rescued by a passer by. Sadly, because this man had no clue what to do, Annie drowned.

So Annie's father, a doctor, invented a dummy for people to practise CPR on to save more lives should they find themselves in that position. He called the doll 'Annie'.

The freaky part? The original Annie dolls were build in her exact likeness. A loving (but sinister) death mask.

*Shudder*

Isn't that the saddest, yet creepiest thing you've ever heard? I implore my loved ones never to make anything in my likeness, should I shuffle of this mortal coil before them.

Shocking Fish that includes you, if you know what I'm saying!

UPDATE: Urban Legend site Snopes tells the story in more detail, and more accuracy, here.

But it would be wonderful! It would have an array of shoes and handbags and come with eyes that close when you lay it down

Go on!

see www.realdoll.com - these are really freaky! Who would want to sleep with one of those! (not sutable for work!)

Ewwww..that IS creepy!

When we had our CPR class at work, the dummies were kind of creepy looking too. Luckily, I had a VERY HOT fireman showing me how to do everything right...took my mind completely off how creepy looking the dummy was. ;)

When my time comes I'm having my ashes sewn into a soccer ball so the kids can still play with me.
