I'm (almost) back!

Yey - my two week hiatus away from blogging is nearly done - I'm all theme-parked out guys and if I ever see another cardboard box and/or XXL drawstring black plastic refuse sack again, I will wrap myself gayly in it and toss myself from the roof of an extremely tall building.

Not that I haven't been having lots and lots of fun - of course...

Good news - Frog My Blog have reviewed me! I am pleasantly gobsmacked and happy to finally have got my blogging mojo back after the pasting I got last time - so there's nothing stopping me now:

First post is called “Going AWOL.” She’s on sabbatical.

  • Well, from today onwards I will be computerless and therefore, I’m stepping out of the blogging game for two weeks.

There are a couple of minor problems with this template. The white content background stops part-way down the page, right where the sidebar ends, leaving the rest of the content hanging off onto the gray background. Fortunately it’s light gray so I can still read it. But it looks weird so I’m assuming it’s unintentional.

The title “Groupie for the Underdog” on the Every Underdog page (which is pretty, but doesn’t coordinate with the rest of the template) overlaps the body column.

The Every Underdog page is elegantly written. It tells of her childhood aspiration of being Wonder Woman, loss of her father, admiration of her mother. When she really writes, it’s pretty good.

Unfortunately, a lot of the blog is cluttered with what-happened-in-last-night’s-tv-show, email forwards, celebrity pics & cartoons currently floating around the internet. In my opinion, finding something you like and just pasting it on your blog is pretty useless. If you’re regurgitating someone else’s stuff, at least add to it, personalize it, give it’s place on your site some meaning.

Again, when she writes, it’s not bad reading. But I would like to see more of that and less regurgitated mumbo-jumbo.

I give it

  • I will be taking the points made on board as they are things that have been bugging me too - and now I am nearly unemployed I will have a little time on my hands to get it all purdy, like.

Oh, happy days.

I promise to tell all about my adventures in packing have no fear - and for the dull bits I will weave a wonderful web using only my imagination to conceal them!
