Jay-walking across the Universe

This morning I got stopped by the law for jaywalking. A police officer actually stopped, rolled down his window and took the time to tick me off!

I hadn't realised, when I got up this morning, that I had woken in The Big Apple...

Still, you can add this to my ever-increasing list of minor skirmishes with the law - pretty soon I'll be Johnny Depp in Dead Man, an outlaw running from the law at every turn, with only an Indian brave called 'Nobody' for company... Sounds pretty cool actually, beats working here for a living.

On another note, I have been flirting with the idea of training to be a nurse. Seriously. I know this may seem ridiculous to those who know what a twat I am but I really do fancy the idea. I've been thinking about it for a while, maybe it's just a symptom of my mid-life crisis or maybe it really would be a worthwhile career move I'm not sure.

I really do think I would be good at the people side of the job and despite the fact I have no medical background at all, they can train you from scratch these days and it may even work in my favour to be a blank canvas.

I'm going to look into the training over the hols and see what I can come up with, who knows I might be able to get a grant to study. How exciting! I want to study again, become a student and getting to wear a saucy nurses uniform? Bonus!

Call me Nurse Ratched, bitch!

You should see about volunteering in a hospital for a while. That's a good way to get a feel for how it all really works without having to spend the money on training if it turns out you don't like it.
