Five Years
There are so many 9/11 tributes today and so many words flitting about to describe how we should feel and how we should remember those lost and injured and forever touched by the horror of that day. I agree with them all.
But I feel like Rainy Pete's post says everything I would want to say and more (I hope you don't mind Pete).
I spent today in the capital, and this anniversary was not out of my mind. At one point I felt a little guilty for having such a nice day in the sun and pottering about the British Museum as though nothing bad in the world ever happens.
But it does and we have to rise above it, forging alliances of our own. We can't predict what will happen or how long we will survive ourselves - we just have to continue to nurture the relationships we have and never forget that these relationships are the reason we wake each morning with a reason to go on.
