He's Back

The Littlest Hobo, Tim is back! I can't think of anything more clever to say about it than that, so here's what he has to say:

Reflections

With PG tips now coursing through my veins, I feel slightly more equipped to share with you my experiences whilst in the beautiful country of Uganda. Let me start by saying that two weeks is nowhere near long enough. No sooner had I started to walk the walk than I was on a flight back home reprogramming myself to the British concept of time keeping (no longer can I sleep in safe in the knowledge that a 9'o clock start means no movement before 11' o clock).

A brief summary would highlight the beautiful character of the Ugandan people, the fact that I was seriously under prepared for such an excursion, it would also allow me to reflect favourably upon the British public transport network, a place were you are not subjected to three hours travel where by your feet are systematically attacked by the numerous free range chickens hell bent on 'muzungu' blood and angered by the squeeze of 20+ people in a 'matartoo' (actual spelling may vary) made for 14.

There would still be time to talk about the breath taking shapes of nature in the east and the intoxicating delights of the numerous palatable local brews, chief protagonists being Bell and Club lagers and a judicious Canadian know by the locals as 'Jesus'. One tip, stay away from the Senator and if anyone offers you spicy cake, politely state that you would rather keep control of your faculties!!

On a serious note the volunteer work conducted by a number of 'long termers' is highly commendable and I am pleased to have been a part of it, particularly the Malaria awareness projects undertaken by a Kayaking American doctor which really opened my eyes to the need for basic education on matters concerning the simple prevention of such a prolific disease. I am pleased I went and am resigned to the fact that Uganda is a country that I will return to some day soon.

The following are some pictures I took whilst there, as always I please ask you to share your opinions, this journey certainly galvanised my desire to become a better photographer and part of the growth process is feedback so please let me know what you think.

(My absolute favourite)

Those pictures are beautiful. If I weren't a happily married woman, I would totally be after Wondy Bro.
