Karma Chameleon

Lazy day today with lots of chilling and cold drinks, didn't awake from my slumber until 10 am and didn't feel in the least bit guilty. Ate Oreo cookies for breakfast and mulled over the insane nightmares I had last night, lots of blood and Phil Mitchell out of Eastenders and empty lift shafts, I will try and arrange them into some sort of order later but they are very disturbing to say the least. More subconscious anxiety for Wondy? Grreat.

Have been thinking long and hard also about the Buddhist faith, all this climbing around all the temples and hearing more and more about the Buddhist teachings has got me to thinking.

These monks have got it going on, haven't they? At its most basic, the Buddhist logic seems to say: be nice and do good things and you get good back, be bad and be nasty and karma's gonna get ya.

I believe in that anyway. And I was always more a lover than a fighter so I'm practically a Buddhist anyway. I always said I wanted to find out more about different religions, in case I found one to suit me.

Hmmmmm.

Last night we bumped into Alex and her husband and their friend, our German friends from the tour to the Tiger Temple. We went to a bar that's made out of an old pink VW Beetle van that does only cocktails. Yum.

We've exchanged emails and all and may meet up again, they are very cool people. Just when I was beginning to lose faith in other travellers - so far I can honestly say travelling doesn't feel like it did eight years ago - or maybe it's me?

I'll let you know on that.

Off to Bangkok's National Museum.

I'm glad you met new friends. I love finding new people to chat with. I didn't meet anyone when I was traveling, except other students... who I hated.

Funny... I was thinking a lot about Buddhism the other day too, as I ran into a woman who is Buddhist. In the end though I think it is just too much for me to label and declare myself any particular faith, as none of them fit entirely into my beliefs....
