Heathcliff

An emotional rescue mission took place this afternoon as we saved a 'tatty tree' from extinction. Death by chainsaw, no less.

I offered the Christmas Tree Dude £2.50 for the future of our firry friend and with a giggle (cynical giggle, I detected) he relented and Heathcliff was mine.

(You really have to see him in the flesh to know he is a Heathcliff).

I will not visit a Christmas Tree farm, see a poor, defenseless sickly tree quite literally fending for itself in a corner and then leave it there. Not on my watch, Mister.

The family cringed as I negotiated the rescue mission almost single-handed but for the assistance of an enthusiastic fourteen-year-old (Animal) - but do I care?

Groupie for the Underdog, me. This is what it is all about.

Best £2.50 ever spent.
