Thai Sticks
After what feels like two solid days travelling we are back on British soil and back in the cold and damp.
Even collecting my bag from the Baggage Reclaim almost had me running straight back to the nearest flight desk to book tickets back out to Phangan. People are rude, grumpy and pushy in London especially on a Friday night when they off out on their Christmas dos and a great unwashed redhead with sleep encrusted eyes and her life on her back is not something they wish to encounter.
We got home reasonably smoothly from Heathrow and I even met an old, old school friend called Dorothy on the train. We chatted and she still is in touch with all the girls who bullied me when we were at school. You guessed it, every one of them still lives in Bexhill and has never left.
I know this sounds harsh but thank God I was me at school and not welcomed with open arms by the more experienced girls. Thank God I was a dork. Now I am proud.
Lucy Fur came rushing straight over as I dropped down my backpack and it was wonderful to see Mum again and I will get used to being back but I feel sort of empty in a sense, purely because we are leaving behind some great friends.
Actually, Rong just called me to say he missed us. So that is nice, when we left on Friday we got a great Royal send off, with all the boys lined up waving us off. Rong didn't cry but his eyes misted up and he told Rocker he loved him.
My one regret is I will not see Mr Ood again until at least March. I feel like I've found a guru who can enlighten me and now I have to wait to see him again. We left him a goodbye present of 2oz of Thai stick (ask a person what they want!).
So now it's back to reality and Christmas and getting back into a routine of sorts. Well, not getting a job or anything reckless like that, but getting settled again until at least Marrkech time. We have a few days until we pick up the girls and then Christmas and decorations and everything can really begin!
