Monkey Business
Today in the post office I bumped into a girl I used to go to school with, Heather. In fact she's the first friend I ever made in England when we moved over from Toronto.
I first saw her again a few months ago when I attended that funeral (the Fame one?) - and I have to say she was lovely and seemed genuinely happy to see me, despite it being over ten years. She invited me out that night but for whatever reason I couldn't make it.
I'm terrible, but when I stay at Mum's I hate going into town in case I bump into any one of the horrible bitches I used to go to school with. I was never terribly bullied, but I was always made to feel as though I should apologise for being me - I was always odd.
Well, now odd doesn't seem so bad to me and it was cool to see her again. She asked for my number so I'm sure we'll be in touch at some point in the near future.
Girl is looking very good too - and hasn't gotten wider, like me. The cow.
Actually, it's been nice to see her because of all of us she seemed to be the most sorted and she really isn't - delighted to report she lives temporarily at home with her mum, too - so we're in the same boat.
Ironically, she's also twiddling her thumbs waiting for a permanent residency visa - for New Zealand - so we have a lot in common!
That is about all on the news front.
I'm running a slight fever and I'm just going to curl up on the couch until bedtime, now.
Life would be a whole lot better if I had a monkey...

And you're right. Odd is lovely. Normal... is terribly boring.
