The Importance of Being Fully Furnished

Sleep has been elusive since we got home. Nowhere to go and no-one to see this morning, but still awake and up by 6 am? Something is amiss!

But I feel more virtuous not wasting the day and so I will take my laptop with me to Worthing today to visit Aunty V - and get cracking on that New Novelist CD. It may sound silly and I know that talent comes from within your heart and soul, but I need something to help me structure. If I could write a book of stories with just middles I would be fine!

I will also try to sort my photographs of Thailand. It was nice looking through some of them last night, it's hard to believe that this time last week I was an island girl and now I'm back being an unemployed would-be writer.

I am so enjoying my photography as well, I am serious now about perhaps taking that further too, in an amateur fashion. Next year I will try to save and buy a new camera, a proper one. In the meantime my little Click&Point Sony will do nicely.

I've been enjoying the 365 Days set - not least because it gives you free reign to be over the top and vain and creative - my three favourite things in life!

I think 2007 might be the year I actually realise a few ambitions - bring it on, New Year...

In other things to report - our lovely friend Rong called twice yesterday to speak to us and I called him once at the bar. He got quite overcome with emotion and could only say "I love you Christa" and "I love you Alan". Very cute.

Also, there has been some talk of perhaps helping with the development of the Reggae Village on the island. Eventually they want to expand the bar and the restaurant and the tattoo shop and the bungalows and virtually take over their side of Haad Salad. If they do they will need help and there has already been a little light-hearted chat about coming in on that.

Who knows what will happen with that as Thailand is a bugger to get a visa for long term but if you are involved in a business out there they are more lenient, so you never know.

I would pack my bags tomorrow if I thought we could live there. Seriously, you guys would have to get used to me being a permanent Yokel.

First off, I think a book of middle stories would be lovely. I recommend it.

Secondly, I totally understand feeling like a little structure would help you write. It has helped me at times.

I am SO with you on the photography bug too. I am always wanting to take pictures now! I really want a new camera, but I know I won't be able to afford it for a while now. It would just be lovely to have it for Greece.

I still say you go to Thailand for good. You'll be happy, have a billion free tattoos, and be the island girl of everyone's dreams. Plus, it will give me a place to stay when I finally make it out to visit you.

Hope your countdown to the holidays is going well, not too stressful.
