How cool is she? And how wise?

Despite what people might think, I am loving my life at the moment. Sure I have no money, no job and nowhere permanent to live - but it's at times like this you start to learn who you can rely on in life.

I feel somewhat stressed at times, with the constant queries from the Immigration Monkeys, sure - but when I feel guilty about taking a year out of the rat-race, I have to remind myself that actually, I am doing something huge.

I am trying to move to another country to start a new life. That's pretty cool.

And after everything, even if it fails, I know I'll survive - because I have a fantastic support network.

So to all my lovely friends, to the Fragglehumps, Heathers, Rainy Petes, BKs and Shocking Fishs of this world I say: without you I am nothing.

And don't even get me started on the Peanut Queens or the Chicas...

The Tortoise With No Shell

I've decided to press on with a children's story I started about a year ago called The Tortoise With No Shell.

(I may work on the title there, it's not exactly snappy).

Ha. Snappy. Get it? As in snapping turtle...?

Ahahaha. Ha.

*Sigh*

Anyway, I won't give too much away for fear of someone stealing my wholely unique idea and passing off as their own - JK Rowling I look at you when I say this - but it does what it says on the tin.

People who know me are mostly aware of my non-maternal attitude to life but I do think we should stop patronising kids of a certain age with all this bollocks about talking pigs and start treating them like people with their own personalities and feelings.

So I intend to swap that talking pig for a talking tortoise instead.

But whatever happens it will be fun to write - I want to use my love of film as well, and throw in a lot of references to the classics.

It'll work - you'll see.
